Job Summary
The Purchase Manager is responsible for managing the procurement function, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services required for manufacturing operations. The role focuses on supplier management, cost optimization, and maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with business objectives
- Manage day-to-day procurement activities and purchasing team
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and maintain vendor database
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers
- Monitor purchasing budgets and control procurement costs
- Ensure timely procurement of raw materials and services
- Coordinate with production, warehouse, and finance departments
- Track and report key procurement KPIs
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement procedures
- Manage supplier performance and conduct periodic evaluations
- Handle import and local purchasing processes
- Resolve procurement-related issues and delays
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 7 years of experience in purchasing or procurement
- At least 3 years in a managerial role
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial sector preferred
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Strong analytical and cost control skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
