Machine Operator
Job Title: Machine Operator – Plastic Manufacturing
Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Department: Production
Reporting To: Production Supervisor / Production Engineer
Job Purpose
To operate and maintain plastic manufacturing machines efficiently while ensuring consistent product quality, minimizing downtime and waste, and adhering strictly to safety, operational, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Machine Operations
- Operate, monitor, and control plastic production machines in line with approved production plans.
- Set up and adjust machine parameters (temperature, pressure, speed, etc.) based on material specifications and product requirements.
- Ensure machines, tools, and equipment are functioning properly before and during operation.
- Accurately record and input operating conditions during production and changeovers.
2. Production & Quality Control
- Perform routine in-process inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Coordinate with the Quality (TQM) team by submitting samples as required.
- Maintain optimal production output while ensuring product quality and consistency.
- Identify defects, take corrective actions, and minimize production waste and rejects.
3. Materials Handling
- Verify availability and readiness of all required materials, auxiliaries, and tools prior to production.
- Ensure raw materials (resins, additives, etc.) meet quality standards and are free from contamination.
- Properly manage and return leftover materials to the warehouse in accordance with procedures.
4. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Detect and report any machine malfunctions or breakdowns to the supervisor promptly.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and corrective actions to reduce downtime.
- Support maintenance activities and recommend improvements to enhance machine performance.
5. Safety, Compliance & Housekeeping
- Strictly follow all Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) procedures and wear required PPE at all times.
- Comply with company policies, ISO standards, and operational procedures.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment (5S standards).
- Ensure all assigned tasks are performed safely without risk to self or others.
6. Reporting & Shift Handover
- Prepare and submit accurate production reports and checklists at the end of each shift.
- Communicate all operational issues, actions taken, and production status to the incoming shift.
- Escalate any critical issues or deviations to the supervisor in a timely manner.
7. Team Support & Continuous Improvement
- Assist in training and onboarding new machine operators.
- Share knowledge, best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management within the scope of the role.
Qualifications & Experience
- High School Diploma or Technical Diploma (Mechanical / Industrial or related field).
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in plastic manufacturing or industrial production environment.
- Experience in operating machines such as Injection, Blow Molding, Extrusion, or Film lines is preferred.
