Job Summary
The Material Management Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling all material management activities including warehousing, inventory control, receiving, storage, and distribution. The role ensures efficient inventory levels, compliance with safety and ISO standards, and coordination with procurement, production, and sales to support operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Policies & Procedures
- Develop, implement, and update policies and procedures related to receiving, storage, inspection, issuance, and transportation of materials.
- Ensure all warehouse operations comply with company policies and ISO standards.
- Coordinate with IT to develop and enhance ERP inventory management procedures.
2. Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Oversee all warehouse operations including storage, handling, and stock organization.
- Ensure proper storage arrangements for raw materials, spare parts, and equipment.
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain optimal stock with minimum inventory.
- Review and manage reorder levels and coordinate replenishment activities.
- Conduct periodic stock checks and investigate discrepancies with corrective actions.
3. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with safety, security, and civil defense regulations across warehouses.
- Enforce standard safety practices for material handling and storage.
4. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Procurement for material requirements and purchase requests.
- Work closely with Production and Maintenance to ensure material availability.
- Coordinate with Sales and Production for customer deliveries.
- Plan store and shipping requirements to meet business needs.
5. Logistics & Reporting
- Monitor outbound logistics activities and ensure timely reporting.
- Maintain accurate records for all inventory transactions.
- Organize documentation in compliance with ISO standards.
6. Planning & Budgeting
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and business plans.
- Optimize warehouse operations to reduce cost and improve efficiency.
7. Team Management
- Manage warehouse and inventory team.
- Support, train, and evaluate team performance.
- Ensure adherence to operational procedures.
8. Other Duties
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
- 7+ years of experience in material management or warehouse operations.
- Experience in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of inventory control and warehouse operations.
- Knowledge of ISO standards and safety regulations.
